Art Key!
10 Keys to remember when setting up art!

1. The dimension of the product is correct.
If you are creating art for a binder, remember that an 8 1/2" x 11" sheet of paper will fit within the binder therefore the binder needs to be larger. Standard height is 11 5/8". Call you ISR to send you a template or download one from this site!

2. All fonts, linked or live images have been sent with the final file.
Please send all fonts or convert the fonts to outline. Please send all images used in creating the artwork. Anything that you place or embed into your document, ie tifs, eps files, logos, pictures etc. need to be sent.

3. No electronic styling has been used.
Within many programs are palettes that allow you to put a style of Bold or Italic on your font when you dont actually have the font. When going to film output the imagesetter will strip off the styling and give you the actual font you have used which is usually regular. If you want a Bold or Italic you must actually choose that font.

4. All colors are correct and any unused colors have been deleted from the file.
Anything printing in 4CP (four color process) is set up in CMYK. Anything printing in spot colors have been designated in Pantone (PMS coated) colors. No RGB colors accepted!

5. White ink that prints is set up as PMS 1555 and the name is changed to printers white.
When screen printing on a colored substrate, you can not use the k/o white in the palette of your program. This represents the white sheet in offset printing. It knocks out the ink color to the sheet color below. Note: Do not put the sheet color in the file. This will print out as a separation. If you are printing on a red binder, you do not want a red separation to print out.

6. All art has been broke back from the scores, hinges or sonic welds.
Anywhere the poly bends is a hinge or a score. If you don't know where the breaks go, please contact your ISR to send a template or if it is a standard product, you can download the template here.

7. Your resolution is correct.
All grayscale (halftone) images are 300 ppi at the final output size (not enlarged). All bitmap images (line art) are 1000 ppi at the final output size (not enlarged).

8. You have sent a digital composite of your art, not separations, that clearly indicate what prints on the inside of the product and what prints on the outside of the product.
When printing on clear and nearly clear substrates such as natural polyethylene or polypropylene, you can print on the inside to show through the sheet. Inside hits need to be output differently than outside hits so we need to know this info whenever printing on a clear poly.

9. You add an extra ink hit instead of reversing out of two or more colors and you are not bleeding two or more colors off of the die cut edge.
When screen printing, registration is not as tight as offset and reversing out of two or more colors is not recommended because you will be able to see overhang in the inks. It is also not recommended to bleed two or more colors because of chipping. Please mock bleed 1/16" from the die cut edge. One color bleed is 1/8" past the die cut edge.

10. A hard copy is sent with every job ordered.
A full color print out of some sort is required with all jobs, especially 4CP jobs! Spot color hard copies can be faxed or sent in as black and white with the colors specked out.
